The Clothing Show is a showcase of art, accessories, and fashions old and new, held each Spring and Fall at Toronto's Exhibition Place.

For years, The Clothing Show has drawn Toronto shoppers in search of unique fashions and accessories – and great deals! Far from simply catering to wealthy fashionistas or those blessed with the physique of a fashion model, this shopping extravaganza has something for everyone.

Hundreds of booths showcase new trends and vintage favourites, and daily runway shows give visitors the opportunity to discover local designers.

The Artists' Gallery

A gallery area has been set up at the show, where art lovers get a chance to see new works by wonderful local artists such as Kally Williams. The gallery is a great way for emerging artists to gain exposure, and students and professional artists alike are invited to display their work in this no-cost, commission-free environment.

Fashion and Accessories

Avant-garde designers happily peddle the latest and greatest fashions for men, women and children, jewellers display styles both classic and eccentric, and those in search of eco-friendly clothing and accessories will be happy to find designs that leave but the tiniest eco-footprint.

Unique and Noteworthy Items

Those looking to spice up their wardrobe will fall in love with the flirty skirts and dresses found at Champagne & Cupcakes and the exquisite corsets from Love, Poetry.

Irina Rapaport's elegant silver jewellery will delight most fashionistas, while those looking for cute, funky designs will be pleased with the extensive line of cell phone holders, luggage tags, and key-rings found at Espe.

Vintage Finds

While shoppers looking to add unique vintage accents to their wardrobe may be better off taking a trip to nearby Kensington Market, those looking for vintage hats, bags, belts and footwear, and women in need of old-fashioned evening gowns and little black dresses, will be pleased.

Very little vintage denim was seen at this year's event, but the beauty of The Clothing Show is that what is absent from one show can be found at the next: favourite vendors often return, and new shops and designers are frequently added to the show's line-up.

Location and Show Times

The Clothing Show happens twice a year. Fall dates for 2009 are September 25 to the 27. This shopping extravaganza takes place at Toronto's Better Living Centre, located on the Exhibition Place Grounds at 195 Princes Blvd. Aboveground parking is available. Exhibition Place is easily accessible by public transit. Call the TTC at 416-393-4636 for details.
